Today in the world


The situation in the world in terms of problems of food insecurity may be deducted  from the following figures:


- Almost 870 million people in the world suffer from chronic malnutrition, and the number of 
  hungry people is still unacceptably high. 

- Between 2010 - 2012 the 12.5% of the world's population was undernourished, or one in eight people suffers from malnutrition.

- 852 of the 870 million live in developing countries, with a prevalence of undernourishment estimated in 14.9%.

-26% of the children in the world suffer from stunting.

- 171 million of children under 5 years suffer from Chronic Malnutrition (stunting), 104 millionsuffer from underweight, and 55 million suffer from Acute Malnutrition.

- 2000 million people around the world suffer from hidden hunger.
